May will set records for Russian losses – "Information Resistance"
Oleksandr Kovalenko, military-political analyst from the "Information Resistance" group, highlighted that Russia's attempt to open new fronts in May resulted in significant losses
He shared this on Espreso TV.
"It's useful to read the daily reports from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. There's indeed a high level of enemy losses. May set a record because the Russians are trying to open new fronts. In June, the Russian Federation will need to increase its mobilization limits and requirements, because May has been critical for them in terms of compensating for losses. Their monthly mobilization is 30,000, and they've already lost more than 30,000 personnel in May alone. To form new units, they'll need to raise the total limit to 40,000," Kovalenko said.
He added that the Russian Federation might announce another partial mobilization or conduct it covertly, gradually increasing the monthly mobilization requirements to 40,000-60,000.
"In this case, we need to ask our partners for weapons that can effectively destroy large numbers of enemy troops. Artillery fire, cluster munitions, and other elements are key to countering "meat" assaults and similar threats. One of the most important aspects now is striking targets within Russian territory. Using our kamikaze drones on Russian soil is good, but they only carry a 40 kg payload to hit oil refineries, airfields, or military units. If we could deploy 900 submunitions from ATACMS on such targets, it would be a game-changer," Kovalenko emphasized.
Kovalenko added that striking within Russia could force the enemy to redeploy and reinforce certain troops, diverting their resources.
- On May 26, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the Defense Forces eliminated another 1,110 Russian soldiers and destroyed dozens of enemy equipment units on the Russian-Ukrainian front.
- German Chancellor Olaf Scholz also noted that up to 24,000 Russian soldiers are killed or seriously injured in the war against Ukraine every month.
