Russia intensifies attacks on Ukrainian civilians amid so-called 'truce'
Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov claims Moscow is adhering to ceasefire terms, despite Ukraine's alleged violations
Russia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Lavrov, stated that a list of objects allegedly attacked by Ukraine during the "30-day ceasefire" was handed over to Donald Trump's National Security Advisor, Michael Waltz. Also, Lavrov noted that Moscow "continues to comply with the agreement, despite violations by Kyiv."
Writing for his Telegram channel, Ukrainian military observer Oleksandr Kovalenko points out two important aspects, regarding this.
"I haven't seen anywhere in open sources the content of the document regarding the "30-day ceasefire," except for some verbal statements, which differ in specifics... So, agreements are now being made verbally? Well, in that case, we are going down a path even more spectacular than the Budapest Memorandum," he says.
Second point – in March, Russia set an absolute record for the use of Shahed-136 'kamikaze' drones, Gerbera drones, and others – 4,196 drones were launched to attack Ukraine! An absolute record for the entire period of the full-scale invasion!
"At the same time, the chronology and dynamics of the attacks are interesting. In the first week of March, Russia used 903 drones, in the second week – 840, in the third – 1,109, and in the fourth week of March, a record 1,344 drones were used," the expert says.
"So, what ceasefire are we talking about when Russia not only continued its strikes on the rear of Ukraine, civilian objects, terrorizing and killing civilians throughout March but also escalated this terror, especially in the second half of March. One can say whatever one wants, but the language of numbers and facts is indisputable," Kovalenko sums up.
