Kremlin vows to set date for third round of talks with Ukraine next week

On June 19, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov announced that the date of the next round of negotiations with Ukraine will be agreed upon next week

According to Russian spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, the date for the third round of talks with Ukraine will be set next week.

A day earlier, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin said he was ready to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the final stage of the talks.

In response, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine is ready for meetings in any format if the participants have the necessary authority to achieve a ceasefire, including Putin.

  • On May 16, a trilateral meeting was held in Istanbul between the delegations of Ukraine, the U.S., and Turkey. After that, talks took place between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations. According to Ukraine’s Defense Minister, they discussed the idea of a 1,000-for-1,000 POW exchange.
  • On Monday, June 2, the second round of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia took place in Istanbul, Turkey.
