
Kremlin confirms Trump’s statement about upcoming call with Putin
U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he plans to speak with Russian leader Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, March 18, to discuss efforts to end the war in Ukraine, the territories and power plants
He made the statement to reporters, Reuters reports.
According to the head of the White House, a lot of work has been done this weekend.
"I'll be speaking to President Putin on Tuesday. A lot of work's been done over the weekend. We want to see if we can bring that war to an end. Maybe we can, maybe we can't, but I think we have a very good chance," Trump said.
The U.S. president added that the issues of territories and power plants will be raised during the conversation with Putin.
"We'll be talking about land. We'll be talking about power plants.I think we have a lot of it already discussed very much by both sides, Ukraine and Russia. We're already talking about that, dividing up certain assets," he said.
Meanwhile, Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed to TASS that the conversation between the Kremlin head and the U.S. president will take place on March 18.
