Soldier stabbed at Kharkiv recruitment center as Ukraine faces surge in attacks on military personnel

This was reported by the Kharkiv Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Protection.

During the attack, the criminal used a pepper spray and inflicted a stab wound on the soldier. The attacker was detained by the National Police.

"The serviceman has been provided with necessary medical assistance, and his life is not in danger. Operational-investigative actions are ongoing. The command and personnel of the regional and district recruitment and social protection centers are providing maximum support to the investigation," the statement reads.

The message emphasized that the attack on the serviceman during the performance of his official duties is a serious crime.

According to the requirements of Article 114-1, obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations is punishable by imprisonment for a term of 5 to 8 years.
