Fierce fighting persists in Zaporizhzhia, Kherson regions as Ukrainian and Russian forces clash - ISW
On Sunday, June 9, positional fighting persisted near Robotyne, Verbove, and Mala Tokmachka in Zaporizhzhia, as well as near Krynky and on islands in the Dnipro Delta in the Kherson region
The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported the information.
Reports indicate that on June 9, positional fighting persisted in the western Zaporizhzhia region, with no confirmed changes on the front line recorded.
Fighting continued near Robotyne, to the east of it near Verbove, and in the northeast near Mala Tokmachka.
According to the Russian milblogger, Russian forces are trying to gain a foothold in the north of Robotyne due to continued attacks by Ukrainian artillery and drones.
ISW analysts added that units of the Russian 291st Motorized Rifle Regiment (42nd Motorized Rifle Division, 58th Combined Arms Army, Southern Military District) are operating in this area.
In addition, on June 9, positional fighting continued on the eastern shore of Kherson region near Krynky and on the islands in the Dnipro delta.
According to some Russian milbloggers, there are unconfirmed reports that Ukrainian troops have withdrawn from Krynky.
However, other Russian pro-war military bloggers claim that Ukrainian troops remain present in the village.
