Inviting Russia is illogical, it has nothing to do at peace summit — political scientist Levus

Dmytro Levus, international political analyst at the United Ukraine think tank, believes that Russia should not be present at the peace summit in Switzerland

He shared his opinions with Espreso TV.

"If Russia wants to participate in the peace summit, Ilya Ponomarev (Russian political figure - ed.) said that if someone wants Russia to participate so badly, they can invite the Russian opposition. This approach holds more logic than the brazen stance of communist China. They say that if Russia is not there, then we will not be there either, which is a non-constructive position. When the United Nations conferences on the creation of organizations were held in 1943, no one thought of inviting Nazi Germany, Italy, or Japan," Levus said.

According to the political scientist, Putin has an arrest warrant for a genocidal crime, i.e., for the deportation of Ukrainian children.

"International lawyers are working in Ukraine to punish Russia for specific Russian crimes. Against this background, the invitation of the Russian Federation to a conference based on the Ukrainian Peace Formula is illogical. For China, which is brazenly trying to push through its so-called peace plan, which is actually a plan for Ukraine’s surrender, this is a reflection of the Chinese and Russian desire to freeze the situation. Therefore, the aggressor has nothing to do at the peace summit," Levus emphasized.
