Military expert Petro Chernyk says that it is necessary to move the line of contact inland in the Kherson region so that HIMARS can operate across the Perekop Isthmus

He said this on Espreso TV.

"The fact that we have managed to hold on to and even create a bridgehead on the left bank of the Dnipro is a success. Why do we need it? Because Kherson should have exhaled from the artillery strikes. We have to understand that the creation of a real large bridgehead is a potential work on the Perekop Isthmus," explained Chernyk.

According to the military expert, it is necessary to move the line of contact 20-30 km inland so that HIMARS can finally start working on the Perekop Isthmus in terms of logistics.

"But the Russians are also aware of this. Because if the Perekop Isthmus comes under full fire control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the southern bridgehead may suffocate. Heavy fighting is taking place on the left bank. It is difficult to predict where the turning point will be," added Chernyk.

  • Over the past day, 68 combat engagements took place in the frontline, and the Defense Forces killed 830 soldiers. Russia made 6 unsuccessful assaults on the positions of Ukrainian troops in the Kherson sector.
