Ukraine's intelligence confirms Russia's use of North Korean artillery
North Korea has sent a significant number of shells to Russia, some of which have already been used by Russian troops at the front in Ukraine and continue to be used against the Ukrainian army
Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate, stated this, Ukrinform reports.
"Yes, we can confirm that when it comes to artillery shells, such cooperation between the two regimes is recorded, and North Korea has already supplied a significant part of artillery shells to the Russian Federation," Yusov said.
He added that some of them have already been used and are being used in the war against Ukraine.
In response to the question about the specific fronts where Russians predominantly deploy these munitions, a representative from the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) stated that it is impossible to pinpoint specific sections of the front. "In fact, it is difficult to track this, because they are not distributed separately to the areas, but the overall stock of ammunition is mixed, i.e., both Russian-made and foreign-made," he emphasized.
- Vadym Skibitskyi, a representative of Ukraine's Defense Ministry's Intelligence Directorate, said that North Korea has already transferred about a million 122 mm and 152 mm artillery shells to Russia.
- The Conflict Armament Research independent research organization has found that the missile that Russia fired at Ukrainian Kharkiv on January 2 was manufactured in North Korea.
- Ukraine's intel chief Budanov said that Russia intends to agree with North Korea to increase arms supplies, ammunition is the major need.
