Ukraine's General Staff names 5 frontline areas where active fighting continues

Over the past day, 101 combat clashes took place at the front. As of 11:00 a.m., active fighting continued in five sectors

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported on June 8.

In the Kharkiv direction, three Russian attacks are currently underway near Vovchansk. The situation is under control. Over the past day, the invading troops lost 136 soldiers in the sector. Five artillery systems, seven vehicles and a unit of special equipment were destroyed. 36 Russian hideouts and one ammunition depot were destroyed.

The situation in the Kupyansk direction is tense. Three combat clashes have taken place since the beginning of the day. One attack was repelled near Makiivka, and two are ongoing near Hrekivka and Nevske.

In the Lyman direction, a battle is taking place near Terny, without success for the Russian army. 

In the Siversk direction, five Russian attempts to advance in the areas of Bilohorivka, Rozdolivka, and Vyimka were repelled.

In the Kramatorsk direction, two hostile attacks in the areas of Ivanivske and Andriivka were rebuffed since the beginning of the day. 

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders are taking measures to prevent the advance of Russian troops deep into Ukrainian territory. Russia keeps trying to break through Ukrainian defenses in the areas of Novooleksandrivka, Sokil, and Novopokrovske. Today there have been 10 firefights. Four attacks were repelled. Five more are ongoing. The situation is under Ukrainian Defense Forces control. 

According to the updated information, Russia lost 261 servicemen in killed and wounded in the Pokrovsk sector yesterday, three armored fighting vehicles, three cannons and mortars, six vehicles and a piece of special equipment were destroyed. 

In the Kurakhove direction, the invading forces launched two assault attacks near Paraskoviivka. One attack was successfully repelled. The battle continues.

In the Orikhiv direction, the Russian aggressor made one unsuccessful attempt to improve the tactical situation in the area of Novoprokopivka.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the Russian troops tried to push Ukraine's defenders back once near Krynky. No positions were lost.

Russians launched 3 missile strikes and 101 airstrikes against Ukraine

In total, over the past day, Russian invaders launched three missile strikes and 101 airstrikes (including 7 missiles and 70 combat aircraft) at the Ukrainian troops' positions and settlements. They also fired over 3,500 times from various types of weapons, 89 of which were from multiple launch rocket systems.

Ukrainian Defense Forces hit 16 Russian concentration points

The Air Force, missile troops and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit 16 places of Russian personnel concentration, an electronic warfare station, an ammunition depot, an area of military equipment concentration, and two Russian command posts.

Over the past day, the total losses of Russian Armed Forces amounted to 1,210 people. They also lost nine tanks, nine armored combat vehicles, 36 artillery systems, 59 operational and tactical UAVs, an air defense system, 7 missiles, 68 vehicles, and 10 pieces of special equipment.

  • Over the past day, the Russian army lost at least 1,210 soldiers. In addition, the Ukrainian military destroyed a dozen units of Russian equipment.
