This was reported by European Pravda with reference to the press service of the parliament.

The decision was taken with 536 votes in favour, 40 deputies were against, and 39 abstained.

As a reminder, on 1 February, EU leaders overcame Hungary's longstanding resistance and reached an agreement to provide macro-financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of €50 billion. The programme will last for four years.

The relevant committees of the European Parliament supported the decision to establish the assistance programme on 22 February.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said that the EU expects to disburse the first funds to Ukraine in March.

  • Earlier, the Ukrainian government also said that Ukraine expects to receive the first tranche of macro-financial support from the EU in the amount of EUR 4.5 billion under the Ukraine Facility programme in March.
