EU receives report on Iranian ballistic missile shipment to Russia
The European Union receives information from its allies that Iran has transferred ballistic missiles to Russia for the war against Ukraine
EU Foreign Policy Spokesperson Peter Stano stated this, according to European Pravda, citing AFP.
The United States believes that Tehran handed over weapons to Moscow to use in the war in Ukraine.
"We have reliable information provided by our allies about the supply of Iranian ballistic missiles to Russia. We are studying this issue together with our member states, and if it is confirmed, this delivery will mean a significant material escalation of Iran's support for Russia's illegal aggressive war against Ukraine," Stano said.
According to the spokesman, ‘the unanimous position of EU leaders has always been clear. The European Union will respond quickly and in coordination with international partners, including with new and significant restrictive measures against Iran.’
At the same time, the Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that it ‘strongly’ rejected accusations of involvement in arms exports to Russia. However, Moscow did not deny this information on Monday when asked about the Wall Street Journal's report that Tehran had delivered missiles.
