RTVS reported.
Fico said that if the war ends during his government's mandate (until 2027), he will ‘do everything to restore economic and normal relations with the Russian Federation’.
‘The European Union needs the Russian Federation, the Russian Federation needs the European Union. We will take great care to maintain friendly relations with Ukraine,’ the Slovak prime minister said.
According to him, the war in Ukraine has no military solution, when ‘many politicians are already talking about the need for compromises in connection with Ukraine,’ recalling the words of Czech President Petr Pavel about the prospects for the return of Ukrainian territories.
- On September 23, Petr Pavel called on Ukraine to accept the temporary occupation of part of its territory.
- Later, the Czech Foreign Ministry explained Pavel's statement: They said that he assessed the current situation at the front as a former general.
