EU delivers two-thirds of promised artillery shells to Ukraine — FM Sybiha
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha says that EU member states have provided Ukraine with two-thirds of the 2 million artillery shells
He shared this in a post on X.
Sybiha spoke about the outcome of his meeting with the newly appointed EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas. He thanked her for the invitation to attend the EU Foreign Affairs Council and for the reception held as part of the third EU–African Union ministerial meeting.
“We continue working to increase pressure on Russia. Sanctions are an effective tool to cut off funding for Russia’s military budget and push it toward peace,” Sybiha wrote.
According to him, EU countries have already supplied two-thirds of the 2 million artillery rounds: “And we are working to deliver the remaining third as soon as possible. I thank Kaja for her important initiative. This critical period requires bold and strategic decisions — both to deter Russia and to advance Ukraine’s EU accession. We agreed on the need to move forward on both fronts.”
