EU chief diplomat urges strong response against Russia after deadly airstrikes

Posting on social media platform X, Kallas condemned the attacks that resulted in civilian casualties, including children.

“Last night's attacks again show Russia bent on more suffering and the annihilation of Ukraine. Devastating to see children among innocent victims harmed and killed. My thoughts are with the families today,” she said.

Kallas stressed the need for the international community to intensify efforts to halt Russia’s aggression.

“We need the strongest international pressure on Russia to stop this war,” she added.

• On the evening of May 24, the invading Russian army launched attack drones over Ukraine. Later that night, they fired cruise missiles. Several Ukrainian regions suffered casualties and damage.
