Dmytro Kyrylchuk, a deputy of the Zaporizhzhia City Council, said this on the Espreso TV channel.
"The Dnipro Hydroelectric Power Plant is standing and will continue to stand thanks to Ukrainian defenders. The key point is that the Dnipro Hydroelectric Power Plant performs the function of electricity transmission. In terms of electricity generation, one of the machine rooms, which was less damaged, has been partially restored," Kyrylchuk said.
Expert services have concluded that there is no risk of a collapse or water breach through the dam, he said.
"The hit damaged the canvas. We are currently working to eliminate these consequences. The reconstruction of Dnipro HPP is gradually continuing," the Zaporizhzhia City Council member added.
- On March 22, the Russian army attacked the largest hydroelectric power plant in Ukraine, Dnipro HPP. A person was killed in the attack. Oil products also got into the river.
- On March 25, Ukrhydroenergo said that it would take years to restore Dnipro HPP.
