Russian Il-22 is destroyed - Ukraine's Air Force spokesman Ihnat
Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat says that the Russian Il-22 aircraft will definitely not take off after the damage that was done on January 15 over the Sea of Azov
He said this on Espreso TV.
"We must immediately remove the question of the word 'damage' regarding the Russian Il-22 aircraft. We wrote 'destroyed'.And in the condition of the photo of the Il-22, the plane will definitely not fly anywhere. According to various sources, this aircraft flew on two engines, which needs to be confirmed, because there is no 100% information. There are killed and wounded. This plane was extinguished, it was on fire. After such damage, the aircraft will definitely not rise," said the spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force Command.
Yuriy Ihnat noted that as for the photo of the Il-22 posted by Russians on their controlled Telegram channels, it is necessary to find out whether this photo is authentic or from this particular incident. Because the same damage with damaging elements was already done to Russian enemy Il-22 more than a year ago, and that aircraft was also seriously damaged. Therefore, it is not known whether this is a genuine photo, and everything should be carefully checked.
