
Despite suspension of U.S. military aid, Ukraine still has lot of weapons – Peskov
The Kremlin's spokesperson stated that despite the temporary halt in U.S. military aid, Ukraine still has a significant amount of weaponry
He made this statement at a conference at the Higher School of Economics on March 11, as reported by Kommersant.
Peskov urged not to look at the situation with rose-colored glasses regarding the suspension of U.S. aid to Ukraine.
"We shouldn’t rush to put on rose-colored glasses… We must always be ready to defend our interests. Many are rushing to put on rose-colored glasses, saying that the Americans will stop supplying weapons, or they already have, that Musk will shut down his communication systems, and everything will work out for us," said Putin's spokesperson.
The Kremlin representative claimed that a quasi- and proxy-war is still ongoing against Russia.
U.S. aid suspension: What we know
American media reported that Donald Trump ordered the suspension of all current military aid to Ukraine until he is convinced that the country's leaders "demonstrate genuine commitment to peace."
All American military equipment, including weapons that have not yet reached Ukraine, is being transported by air and sea transit or waiting in transit zones in Poland, where it will remain.
On March 4, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk confirmed that the U.S. had halted military shipments to Ukraine. At the same time, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal stated: "We will calmly continue our diplomatic work with the U.S., with the U.S. Congress, with the Trump administration, and with President Trump himself using all available channels.
