Ukrainian forces have advantage over Russia in drone bombers, says analyst
Ukrainian defense forces currently have an advantage over the Russia in drone bombers
Analyst with the Militarnyi portal Vadym Kushnikov shared the information in an interview with Hromadske Radio.
"We are currently leaders in this category because the Russians do not have a large quantity of similar systems. Therefore, the advantage lies with our defenders," he stated.
Kushnikov emphasized the advantage specifically in bomber drones, adding, "There is such a trend. As of now, this is the situation."
The analyst also examined the Russian drones inflicting the most damage on Ukrainian forces. He highlighted reconnaissance drones, which adjust the fire of Russian artillery and rocket units, including Zala, SuperCam, Orlan-10, Orlan-30, and others. "This arsenal is quite extensive, but we can also share some insights into our defense's countermeasures."
Over 1,200 interceptions of Zala drones were recorded, with more than 240 occurring at night. "These interceptions were carried out using drones with thermal imaging systems," Kushnikov explained. "Regarding SuperCam, over 700 UAVs were successfully intercepted, and about 300 units of Orlan-10 and Orlan-30 were also neutralized. Overall, our security and defense forces are honing effective tactics and have the necessary equipment to counter these threats."
He also noted that these threats are not going away. "The Russians are investing significant resources and personnel in increasing the production rates of these drone categories," concluded the analyst.
- Aviation expert, member of the public council at the State Aviation Service, Bohdan Dolintse, notes the production of Russian attack drones is growing.
