
China asked Ukraine to refrain from strikes during Xi's Moscow visit, Zelenskyy says
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said on May 13 that Ukraine received signals from China asking it to ensure security in the region during President Xi Jinping's visit to Moscow for the parade from May 8 to 10
He shared the information at a press conference.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine received signals from China, asking it to ensure security in the region during Xi Jinping’s visit to Moscow for the parade.
“We received signals from China and other countries that it would be fair to take steps toward a complete ceasefire so that from May 8 to 10, there would be security in the region, where many leaders, including China, would be present. It’s clear what was being said,” he stated.
Zelenskyy also noted that Ukraine always keeps its promises, which is why there were no strikes on the parade in Moscow on May 9, despite Russian provocations.
Additionally, the president mentioned that China supports the 30-day ceasefire proposed by Ukraine.
“We received a signal from the Chinese side that they support the 30-day ceasefire proposed by Ukraine,” Zelenskyy said.
