Chaos on both sides: DeepState on situation in New York village in Donetsk region
DeepState OSINT project's analysts have updated the map of hostilities and reported that Russian forces have advanced near five settlements in Donetsk region
DeepState reported the information.
The Russian army has advanced in Pivnichne, Druzhba and Zavitne. In addition, Russia has made progress near Novohrodivka and Hryhorivka in the Donetsk region.
"Fighting continues in New York," the analysts said.
Later, DeepState clarified that the situation in the village is difficult, but Russia does not control the settlement.
"In addition, there is a unique situation in the village, where chaos is happening on both sides. In recent days, Russian forces have been using certain routes to bypass the Ukrainian Defence Forces and are trying to concentrate in Nelipivka, where measures are already underway to eliminate the enemy," the statement said.
Analysts suggest that Russia is currently focusing not on capturing the village but on establishing a foothold deeper within the territory. Meanwhile, DeepState reports that Russia's presence in the rear would also prove to be problematic.
- Earlier, Ukraine's General Staff reported that as of August 19, the occupying Russian army had lost 1,330 soldiers in the war in Ukraine. Ukrainian defence forces destroyed 5 tanks and 52 artillery systems.
- On August 20, 153 combat clashes took place at the front. Russian troops are conducting active offensive operations in an attempt to improve the tactical situation, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces inflict significant losses in manpower and equipment on them.
