All children in Pokrovsk may face forced evacuation by Dec. 16 - journalist
Journalist Natalia Biriukova reported that local authorities are planning to evacuate all children from the city of Pokrovsk in Donetsk region by December 16, even without parental consent
She said this on Espreso TV.
“As of December 11, more than 11,000 people and 19 children remained in Pokrovsk. According to the head of the region, Vadym Filashkin, they will try to evacuate all children by December 16, even if their parents do not want to. Most of the residents who remain in the city are critical infrastructure workers. That is, railroad workers, utility workers, miners, the State Emergency Service, and police officers. They will also leave, as all services in the city are already being cut,” Biriukova said.
The journalist said that Pokrovsk continues to provide construction materials to residents to eliminate the consequences of Russian strikes.
“As early as Monday, municipal vehicles were working in the city, removing garbage, sweeping the streets and helping to eliminate the consequences of the strikes. Now, all this will be provided to a limited extent. Perhaps they will also distribute construction materials so that people can somehow cover their windows and doors. However, as far as I understand, they will no longer help with this,” she added.
