British intelligence assesses Russian priority direction
Avdiivka remains a key focus for Russia, with ongoing attempts to capture the city and continued attacks in the southeastern part
This is according to the Ministry of Defenсe of Great Britain.
The British Ministry of Defenсe reports ongoing street battles between Ukrainian defenders and Russian occupiers in Avdiivka.
"Over the past two weeks, Russian forces have likely rotated in additional forces to the Avdiivka sector, increasing the pressure on Ukrainian positions around the city," suggests intelligence.
Despite this, Ukraine persists in counterattacks to safeguard the primary supply route for ammunition.
Great Britain reports approximately 600 guided munitions fired from tactical aviation at Ukrainian positions in Avdiivka over the past four weeks. On February 5, the Russian Federation increased daily strikes with guided air munitions from 30 to 50, marking a 66% rise from the previous two weeks.
"Russia is almost certain to continue offensive pressure in this area over the next several weeks, heavily leveraging tactical air power to support its effort," states the intelligence agency.
