Belarus deploys aviation against Russian Shahed drone for first time - Belarusian Hajun
On the night of August 29, a Russian Shahed drone, initially launched into Ukrainian territory, entered Belarusian airspace. This marks the first instance of Belarusian forces using aviation to shoot down a drone
Belarusian Hajun project reported the information.
A Shahed-type attack drone entered Belarusian territory in the Yelsk district at approximately 3:30 am.
It is reported that after the Shahed drone entered Belarusian airspace, a Belarusian Air Force fighter jet pursued "the intruder" for about 20 minutes. Around 3:55 a.m., at least two explosions were heard in the Yelsk district of the Gomel region, and a bright flash was observed in the sky.
“Thus, this is probably the first recorded case when a fighter jet of the Belarusian Air Force tried to destroy a real military target in the sky - a Russian Shahed-type kamikaze drone,” the statement said.
