Belarus makes launchers for Russian Oreshnik ballistic missiles, Lukashenko says
The Belarusian leader claims his country has completed production of several launchers but awaits missile deliveries from Russia for deployment
In Belarus, production of launchers for Russian Oreshnik ballistic missiles is underway; however, the missiles themselves are not yet present in the country.
This was stated by the self-proclaimed President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, in Moscow, as reported by Espreso with reference to BelTA.
"The Oreshnik does not exist yet. We are working on it. But when I delved into this issue—Vladimir Vladimirovich (Putin—ed.) involved me in this matter—it turned out that besides the missile, all other components need to be manufactured as well. And we are already doing this in Belarus. Therefore, we are actively working in this direction. The production of several launchers designed for Oreshnik has already been practically completed," said Lukashenko.
He also noted that Belarus would require missiles from Russia for these launchers.
