Bases in northern Luhansk region are filled with Russian private military companies
Vitalii Vlasenko, head of the Sievierodonetsk District Military Administration, says that Russian troops are amassing units of private military companies in the northern Luhansk region
He said this on Espreso TV.
"In the temporarily occupied territories, the Russians are trying to register all conscripts for military service. All roadblocks and checkpoints on the border with Russia are working in this direction. Any movement there takes place through the military registration and enlistment office. However, there is no direct mass mobilization there. The occupiers rely on recruitment and agitation. They use the fact that there are no jobs and therefore offer to sign a contract with the occupation army,” said Vlasenko.
According to him, the Russians were forced to transfer units of the Storm V PMC to the Kharkiv region to support the offensive.
"There is information that all bases in the north of Luhansk region are filled with mercenaries from the Russian private military companies. In particular, the Storm V PMC. It is also known that it was Storm V units that the occupiers were forced to transfer to the Kharkiv region, namely to Vovchansk. They were deployed to support the offensive. This confirms the fact that the situation with their reserves is not so good,” he added.
- On June 6, it was reported that the Russian Federation intends to form a new so-called federal district in the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Luhansk, and Donetsk regions by the end of 2024.
