Another Russian offensive near Chasiv Yar repelled — Ukrainian Armed Forces officer Fedorenko
Yuriy Fedorenko, commander of the Achilles battalion of the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade named after Ivan Sirko, noted that on April 5, during a powerful massive attack on the outskirts of Chasiv Yar, Russia suffered significant losses in equipment and personnel
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"It was a record for the unit, and possibly for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. To summarize the situation, the enemy continues to attack and assault in the direction of Chasiv Yar. They are also storming Bohdanivka and Ivanivske, trying to encircle the suburbs. Two days ago, on April 5, the enemy first carried out massive artillery preparation, using cannon artillery, Grad and Uragan MLRS. After that, the attack and assault operations began, the assault infantry was transported on light armored vehicles such as airborne infantry fighting vehicles and IFVs, which was covered by enemy tanks and mortars," commented the commander of the Achilles company of the 92nd Brigade.
According to him, Russian forces deployed everything they had in their arsenal, including a significant presence of FPV drones. In addition, they actively used aviation, aircraft and helicopters.
"In total, the invaders used about 30 units of armored vehicles and a significant number of personnel. That is, the enemy conducted a very powerful assault. But the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled this massive attack and inflicted significant losses on the enemy. The unit I am honored to lead alone destroyed 9 units of light armored vehicles, another buggy with assault infantry and damaged two units. All of our brigades worked well, including anti-tank, artillery and UAV units. In total, the enemy lost about 20 armored vehicles and a significant number of personnel, especially those of its attack potential, during these strike and assault operations. Accordingly, the Russians did not have significant success on the battlefield," summarized Yuriy Fedorenko.
