About 100 people refuse to evacuate, remain in frontline town of Vuhledar
About 100 civilian Ukrainians remain in Vuhledar, Donetsk region, refusing to leave. At the same time, it is impossible to bring humanitarian aid to the town, as Russia is shelling all roads
The head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration Vadim Filashkin reported this.
‘The situation around Vuhledar has escalated. The Russians are trying to surround the city, which has become a real fortress for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. There are large tank battles going on there, the enemy is trying to break through the defenses, but now the Russian troops are moving on to try to surround the town,’ he said.
At the same time, Filashkin noted that Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups are trying to break through to the town, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces are destroying them. According to the head of the Donetsk Military Administration, about 100 civilians remain in Vuhledar.
‘About a hundred people remain in the city who do not want to evacuate. It is very difficult to bring in humanitarian aid because the enemy is shelling all available routes. They are using all kinds of weapons: tanks, artillery, drones,’ he added.
