98 clashes occur at front, Pokrovsk direction remains hottest - Ukraine's General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this on August 29.

Russian forces continue to use artillery and aircraft in the northern Ukrainian regions. The areas of Bratenytsia, Druzhba, Bobylivka, Dmytrivka, Prohres, Studenky, and Khrinivka were subjected to Russian shelling. Vodolahy, Bilopillia, Mykytivka, and Bondarivshchyna came under enemy bombardment. Five air strikes involving 16 guided bombs have been reported so far.

The Russian army also keeps attacking their territory, launching 11 airstrikes and dropping 16 bombs on the Kursk region.

Frontline situation 

Two combat engagements took place in the Kharkiv sector today. Ukrainian troops prevented a Russian attack near Vovchansk. Another enemy attack is being repelled in the same location.

In the Kupyansk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled nine Russian attacks near Sinkivka, Kolisnykivka, and Lozova. Five more attacks are ongoing near Miasozharivka, Kolisnykivka, Stepova Novoselivka, and Lozova.

In the Lyman sector, the Russian attack near Makiivka continues. Since the beginning of the day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have repelled 12 assaults near Tverdokhlibove, Cherneshchyna, Druzheliubivka, Nevske, and Torske.

In the Siversk sector, the Russians failed in three attempts to storm Ukrainian positions near Verkhniokamianske and Vyimka. Currently, two firefights are still ongoing.

In the area of Klishchiivka, Andriivka, and Chasiv Yar in the Kramatorsk sector, the Russian army, supported by aviation, is trying to advance on the Ukrainian positions; four attacks were repelled.

In the Toretsk sector, the Russian troops attacked the Ukrainian troops' positions nine times with the support of attack aircraft. Currently, fighting continues near Toretsk and Sukha Balka.

The situation is the hottest in the Pokrovsk sector. Fierce fighting is taking place in the areas of Vozdvyzhenka, Zelene Pole, Myroliubivka, Hrodivka, Novohrodivka, Karlivka, Marynivka, and Mykhailivka. So far, the Russian army has made 23 attempts to storm Ukrainian positions.

In the Kurakhove sector, six firefights continue in the area of Krasnohorivka. Eleven attacks were repelled near Heorhiivka and Kostiantynivka.

In the Vremivka sector, two enemy assaults towards Kostiantynivka were repelled. At the same time, Russia continues to try to break through Ukrainian defense in the direction of Vuhledar and Vodiane, where six Russian attacks are currently underway.

In the Orikhiv sector, three unsuccessful enemy attacks were repelled by Ukrainian defenders near Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne.

So far, no active Russian actions have been observed in the Prydniprovskyi sector.

"The Ukrainian Armed Forces Command is taking all necessary measures to deter the Russian offensive," the General Staff added.
