Ukraine's 92nd assault brigade captures Russian positions in Kharkiv sector - commander of Achilles battalion Fedorenko
Yuriy Fedorenko, commander of the Achilles UAV battalion of the 92nd separate assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, noted that persistent work is underway to drive the occupying Russian troops out of the positions they have managed to seize in the Kharkiv region
Fedorenko told about it on Espreso TV channel.
"The enemy's goals and objectives remain unchanged — their presence in the Kharkiv region. In the direction of Strileche-Lyptsi, it is important for the enemy to maintain momentum and have at least tactical results in order to approach the administrative boundaries of Kharkiv. In Vovchansk, the invaders are trying to cling to every trench and hold the positions behind it. The occupiers are actively supporting their actions with aircraft and using a significant amount of firepower. In addition, Russian troops have the opportunity to replenish their numerous losses incurred during combat missions," commented Yuriy Fedorenko.
According to him, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have managed to stabilize the situation and Russian enemy is not making any further advances into the depths of Ukrainian operational space.
"Systematic, persistent work is underway to drive the enemy out of the positions it has managed to occupy. Sometimes there are posts on social media that Russian soldiers are allegedly leaving Hlyboke. I would like to point out that over the past year, while fighting in the most difficult areas, I have never seen the enemy voluntarily withdraw from a particular settlement. The invaders are driven out of every position with a counter-fight, and after the Defense Forces have established themselves there, the Russians still try to regain their position. Accordingly, the dynamics of the fighting is very lively," said the commander of the Achilles battalion.
Fedorenko added that Russian enemy is trying to replace their destroyed lightly armored and armored vehicles with highly maneuverable ones. In particular, they are trying to transport personnel to the front line using two-wheeled motorcycles, buggies and other vehicles, and the Ukrainian Defense Forces detect and destroy them in a timely manner on the outskirts.
"As for the enemy drones, there are quite a few of them, both reconnaissance and attack. The enemy is using Mavic, day and night FPV drones, and, of course, there is a high saturation of Lancets, which are aimed primarily at knocking out our armored vehicles and artillery. Despite the onslaught of the occupiers, the dynamics of the fighting, and their ability to replenish their losses, the Defense Forces are performing their tasks very well. Over the past week, the 92nd Assault Brigade has taken back a number of positions from the enemy with heavy fighting and managed to fortify them. Today, we are holding all these positions," the serviceman stressed.
- On July 1, a report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that in the Kharkiv sector, Russian soldiers made 11 attempts to storm the defensive lines near Hlyboke, Lyptsi and Vovchansk. Four combat engagements are ongoing. The situation is under control of Ukrainian troops.
