90 combat clashes occur in frontline: Russia attacks mostly in Pokrovsk sector

This is stated in the report of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff as of 8:00 am.

According to the updated information, on August 9, Russia launched two missile attacks on the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements, as well as 71 air strikes, dropping 91 guided aerial bombs. In addition, it carried out more than 4,800 attacks, 170 of which were from multiple launch rocket systems.

The aggressor carried out air strikes in the vicinity of 13 settlements in Sumy region; 10 in Donetsk region; 3 in Zaporizhzhia region; 1 in Kherson region.

Situation in the main frontline areas

There were four combat clashes in the Kharkiv direction. Ukrainian defense forces repelled Russia's assault near Vovchansk.

In the Kupyansk direction, two firefights took place, in particular, near Kolisnykivka and Tabaivka.

In the Lyman direction, the Russian army attacked 15 times near Makiivka, Nevske and Serebryansky forest.

There were 11 combat clashes in the Siverskyi direction. Ukrainian defenders repulsed Russian assaults near 5 populated areas.

In the Kramatorsk direction, nine battles took place in the areas of Stupochky, Chasiv Yar and Ivanivske.

In the Toretsk direction, the Russian troops attacked 14 times near Bila Hora, Diliiivka, Toretsk and New York.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian defenders rebuffed 28 hostile assaults in the area of 8 settlements. The highest concentration of attacks was near Hrodivka and Zhelanne.

In the Kurakhove direction, Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled five adversary attacks near Paraskoviivka, Oleksandrivka and Kostiantynivka.

In the Vremivka direction, Russia's offensive towards Vodiane failed.

In the Orikhiv direction, Russian troops stormed the positions of Ukrainian units near Mala Tokmachka.

The situation in the Huliaipole and Prydniprovskyi directions remained unchanged. In the northeastern border with Belarus, no signs of Russian offensive groups were detected.

On the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the Russian army maintains a military presence, conducting mortar and artillery shelling of settlements from the territory of the Russian Federation.

Defense forces destroyed four control points and three Russian air defense systems

On August 9, the aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Ukrainian army conducted four strikes on the areas of Russian personnel and weapons concentration, and hit four command posts, three air defense systems, seven artillery systems, an ammunition depot and three other important facilities.
