October 27 sees 84 combat engagements, Russia intensifies attacks in Kurakhove direction

This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"The situation at the front remains tense. The enemy, despite the significant losses inflicted by Ukrainian defenders, continues to try to break through the defences of Ukrainian troops," the ministry said.

In total, 84 combat engagements took place since the beginning of the day.

Today, hostile artillery shelling from the territory of Russia affected the areas of Khrinivka, Bleshnia, Vorobivka in Chernihiv region; Korenok, Basivka, Novenke, Obody, Oleksandrivka, Boiaro-Lezhachi, Velyka Berizka, Starykove, Lisne, Stepanivka, Chernatske in Sumy region. In addition, Russia conducted air strikes on the areas of Stepne, Bilovody, Basivka and Yunakivka in Sumy region, dropping a total of 12 aircraft bombs.  

Russia also struck at its own territory, according to available information, today the Russians carried out 15 air strikes in the Kursk region, using 18 air bombs.  

Frontline situation

Today, in the Kharkiv sector, Russian forces stormed the defensive lines of Ukrainian troops twice near Vovchansk, Ukrainian defenders repelled the attacks.  

In the Kupyansk sector, the Russians actively attacked the positions of Ukrainian troops 13 times in the areas of Kindrashivka, Synkivka, Kolisnykivka, Krugliakivka, Lozova, Zahryzove, Pershotravneve and Vyshneve. Ukrainian troops are holding steadfastly, with six firefights still ongoing. The situation is under control.  

In the Lyman sector, Russian invaders launched nine attacks on Ukrainian positions near Cherneshchyna, Novomykhailivka, Makiivka, Terny, Zarichne, Serebrianka and Hryhorivka.  

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian invaders carried out two assault operations with the support of army aviation near Orikhovo-Vasylivka.  

In the Toretsk sector, Russian forces tried to force Ukrainian troops out of their positions near Shcherbynivka and New York, where Ukrainian forces repelled four attacks. The Russians are actively using aviation in this area, in particular, the areas of Oleksandro-Kalynove and Romanivka are being bombed.

Since the beginning of the day in the Pokrovsk sector, Russia has already made 15 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions in the areas of Myroliubivka, Promin, Krutyi Yar and Selydove. Ukrainian defence forces are holding back the onslaught and have so far repelled ten Russian attacks. The enemy's losses are being clarified.

Fighting continues near Novoselydivka, Novodmytrivka, Kurakhivka, Maksymilianivka, Antonivka, Kurakhove and Katerynivka in the Kurakhove sector. According to the updated information, 19 attacks by the occupying army were repelled today, and two attacks are ongoing.

In the Vremivka sector, an attack in the area of Novoukrainka continues, and the Russians dropped four guided aerial bombs in the area of Velyka Novosilka.

In the Huliaipole and Orikhiv directions, Russian troops  actively used aviation, for example, in the area of Mala Tokmachka, Russia dropped 12 guided aerial bombs and struck Bilohiria twice with 40 unguided aerial missiles.

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, the Russian army tried three times to drive Ukrainian troops from their positions without success.
