Ukraine's General Staff reports 80 combat clashes on frontline. Most of fighting occurs in Pokrovsk sector

Since the beginning of the day on July 4, 80 combat engagements took place in the frontline. The largest number of battles took place in the Pokrovsk sector, where Russian forces have already carried out 24 attacks

This is stated in the latest report of Ukraine's General Staff.

Border settlements of Sumy and Chernihiv regions continue to suffer from cynical artillery shelling from the territory of Russia. The areas of Snovsk, Klyusy, Porozok, Oleksandrivka, Hremyach, Karpovychi, Brantsivka, Turya, Progress, Bleshnya, and Yeline were hit by barrel artillery and MLRS fire.

In addition, Kharkiv region is under constant bombardment by enemy aircraft. Today, from the direction of Belgorod (Russia) and Shebekino (Russia), terrorists launched three air strikes, dropping four glide bombs. They targeted the areas of Lyptsi, Vovchanski Khutory and Okhrymivka.

The situation on the frontline remains tense but under control. Ukraine's Defense Forces are making efforts to disrupt the Russian aggressor's offensive plans and destroy its personnel and equipment.

Situation in the main frontline areas on July 4

In the Kharkiv sector, Russian forces stormed the defensive lines near Hlyboke, Vovchansk and Lyptsi 10 times. Three combat engagements are currently underway. The situation remains under control of Ukrainian troops.

In the Kupyansk sector, Russian enemy stormed the positions of Ukrainian troops four times in the vicinity of Synkivka, Stelmakhivka and Novoselivka. Two firefights are still ongoing. Ukrainian soldiers continue to hold steadfastly.

In the Lyman sector, the invading Russian army made seven attacks on Ukrainian positions near Makiivka, Hrekivka and Terny during the day. Six engagements ended without success for the enemy, and one is ongoing.

In the Siversky sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled three Russian attacks near Klishchiivka and Vyimka. Another combat engagement did not end. The situation is under control.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian forces made nine assaults on the positions of Ukrainian troops near Kalynivka, Hryhorivka and Klishchiyivka. Six battles are still ongoing.

In the Toretsk sector, nine hostile attacks took place in the vicinity of Pivnichne, Toretsk and New York. Ukrainian troops repelled five enemy attacks, four more combat engagements are ongoing.

The Pokrovsk sector witnessed the highest number of combat engagements. Since the beginning of the day, the occupants have made 24 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions in the areas of Novooleksandrivka, Vozdvyzhenka, Kalynove, Progress, Lozuvatske, Yevhenivka, Novoselivka Persha and Yasnobrodivka. The defence forces are holding back the attack and repelled 18 Russian attacks, six battles are still ongoing. The enemy's losses are being clarified.

Fighting continues near Krasnohorivka in the Kurakhove sector. According to updated information, two attacks by the occupation army are currently underway in the area, and two have already been completed. Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled another enemy attack near Paraskoviivka.

In the Vremivka sector, four enemy attempts to advance were made near Vodiane and Makarivka. One battle is ongoing.

In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian troops repelled two Russian assaults. Here, the Russian forces failed in the areas of Verbove and Robotyne.

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, the enemy, also unsuccessfully, attacked Ukrainian defenders twice near Krynky. The areas around Dariivka, Tyahynyka and Odradokamyanka were hit by eight multiple rocket launchers.

  • Over the course of July 3, 161 combat engagements took place at the frontline. The largest number of attacks were repelled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Pokrovsk sector.
