80 combat clashes occur at front, nearly half in Pokrovsk sector - Ukraine's General Staff

Since the start of August 13, there have been 80 combat engagements at the front, with almost half occurring in the Pokrovsk sector of the Donetsk region

Ukraine's General Staff reported the information as of 4:00 p.m.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv sector, Russia carried out 12 attacks near Lyptsi, Hlyboke, Tykhe, and Vovchansk. Two of these attacks are still ongoing in the Vovchansk area.

In the Kupyansk sector, Russian forces did not conduct any active offensives.

In the Lyman sector, the invading forces stormed Ukrainian defenders' positions six times near Makiivka, Nevske, Terny, and the Serebryansky forest. Five battles have concluded, with one still ongoing. Russian forces fired uncontrolled aerial missiles near Serhiivka.

In the Siversk sector, five firefights took place during the day. Russia advanced near Spirne and Verkhniokamianske but was met with a fierce rebuff.

In the Kramatorsk sector, two firefights are ongoing near Chasiv Yar. Ukrainian troops stopped another attack near Bila Hora.

In the Toretsk sector, Russian forces increased the number of attacks to four. One attack was repelled near Toretsk and Zalizne, and fighting continues. Additionally, the Russian army conducted five airstrikes, dropping seven aerial guided bombs on Toretsk.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Russian forces conducted assault operations in the areas of Sukha Balka, Vozdvyzhenka, Novooleksandrivka, Yelyzavetivka, Zelene Pole, Malynivka, Hrodivka, Zhelanne, and Skuchne. Ukrainian defenders are holding back the onslaught of Russian troops and have repelled 22 attacks; 14 clashes are still ongoing. Russian losses in this area are being clarified. Russia also launched four airstrikes on Oleksandropil and Hrodivka.

In the Kurakhove sector, the Russian army attacked three times near Krasnohorivka and Kostiantynivka, where they were defeated.

In the Orikhiv sector, Russia, using aviation, attacked the Bilohiria area with 30 unguided aerial missiles.

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, Russian forces were unsuccessful, attacking Ukrainian troops' positions five times. They fired 15 unguided missiles at Mykolaivka.

In other areas of the front, the situation remains unchanged.

Shelling of Ukrainian territory

"The border villages and towns in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions continue to suffer from cynical shelling from the territory of the Russian Federation," the General Staff added.

Artillery and mortar fire today hit the areas of Novi Vyrky, Manukhivka, Vidrodzhenivske, Karpovychi, Prohres, and Bleshnya. Russian forces also conducted air strikes on Riasne, Novi Vyrky, Vorozhba, Bilopillia, Liubymivka, Bilovody, Radkivka, Yunakivka, Sumy, and Basivka, dropping a total of 31 guided aerial bombs.

In the Kharkiv region, Russian invaders attacked the area of Mali Prokhody village with two guided aerial bombs.

  • Over the past day, Ukraine's Defense Forces eliminated 1,160 Russian soldiers, as well as dozens of pieces weapons and equipment.
