79 clashes occur at front, majority in Kurakhove, Pokrovsk sectors - Ukraine's General Staff

Since the beginning of September 12, 79 combat clashes have taken place at the front. The situation is the hottest in the Kurakhove and Pokrovsk sectors

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this on September 12.

Russian artillery and mortar attacks in the Kharkiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy regions affected, in particular, the Tymofiivka, Ivano-Shyichyne, Hremyach, Sukhodil, and Porozok communities. In addition, the Russians conducted airstrikes with guided bombs in the areas of Pavlivka, Maryino, Bilopillia, Obodiv and Richky.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv sector, the Russian army Ukrainian positions twice near Vovchansk.

In the Kupyansk sector, Russian forces have been conducting offensives near Synkivka and Kolisnykivka since the beginning of the day. One firefight is still ongoing.

In the Lyman sector, Russia attacked three times near Druzheliubivka and Nevske. The situation is under control.

In the Siversk sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled the Russian attempts to advance near Verkhniokamianske. One battle in the area is still ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk sector, four firefights took place in the areas of Zaliznyanske and Stupochky. At the same time, enemy aircraft attacked Pavlivske and Novopokrovka.

In the Toretsk sector, the Russians, with the support of bombers, tried four times to force Ukrainian units out of their positions in the areas of New York and Nelipivka. They were fiercely rebuffed. In addition, the Russian aggressors struck Toretsk and Ivanopillia with guided bombs.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Russia launched 20 assault operations in the areas of Vozdvyzhenka, Novooleksandrivka, Zelene Pole, Novotroitske, Novohrodivka, Hrodivka, Selydove, and Mykhailivka. The Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back the Russian offensive and have repelled 14 attacks, with six more battles currently underway.

In the Kurakhove sector, the Russian troops attacked 33 times in the direction of Zhelanne Persha, Ukrainske, Oleksandropil, Heorhiivka, and Kostiantynivka. 27 attempts of the invading forces to advance have already been repelled. The fighting continues, with the hottest spots near Heorhiivka.

In the Vremivka sector, the Russian army stormed Ukrainian positions near Zolota Nyva and Katerynivka twice without success.

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, two enemy attacks were also repelled.

In other areas, the operational situation remained unchanged.

  • Serhiy Tsehotskyi, an officer with 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Yakov Handziuk, noted that the enemy sent regular Russian airborne troops to the Pokrovsk direction.
