73 clashes occur at front, Pokrovsk direction remains hottest

Since the beginning of July 28, 73 combat engagements have taken place at the front, with Russian forces most actively trying to storm the Pokrovsk direction

Ukraine's General Staff reported the information.

Border settlements in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions continue to suffer from shelling by Russia. Artillery and mortar fire affected the areas of Ulanove, Basivka, Yunakivka, Sadky, Velyka Pysarivka, Karpovychi, Mykolaivka, Ponomarenky, Bachivsk, and Popivka.

At the same time, the Kharkiv region is under constant bombardment by Russian aircraft. Since the beginning of the day, the Russian army has launched two air strikes from Belgorod and Shebekino using six aerial guided bombs, targeting the Vovchansk area. Additionally, Russia has fired two Kh-35U anti-ship missiles at the city of Kharkiv.

In the Kharkiv sector, Russian forces launched three attacks near Hlyboke and Vovchansk, with one firefight currently underway. In the Kupyansk sector, Russia assaulted Novoosynove, and the battle is still ongoing. 

Additionally, the occupying army bombarded Petropavlivka, Tabaivka, and Bohuslavka using five aerial guided bombs.

In the Lyman sector, the invading army attacked Ukrainian positions 12 times near Makiivka, Novoserhiivka, Nevske, Terny, Novosadove, and Torske. Ukrainian defenders repelled five of these attacks, while seven are still ongoing.

In the Siversk sector, Russia launched five attacks near Spirne and Ivan-Daryivka during the day but was ultimately defeated in these clashes.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian forces conducted six assault operations near Vasiukivka, Hryhorivka, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, and Klishchiivka. Ukrainian defense forces repelled half of these attacks, and three engagements are still ongoing.

In the Toretsk sector, the Russian army launched nine attacks near Zalizne, New York, Toretsk, and Pivnichne. Six battles have concluded, while three are still ongoing. Additionally, Russian forces carried out nine airstrikes on Toretsk, Shcherbynivka, and New York.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Russia conducted assault operations in the areas of Tymofiivka, Vozdvyzhenka, Novooleksandrivka, Zelene Pole, Kalynove, Ivanivka, Prohres, Zhelanne, Serhiivka, Novoselivka Persha, and Yasnobrodivka. Ukrainian defense forces repelled 16 attacks, with 12 combat engagements still ongoing. Russia also launched six airstrikes in the areas of Zhelanne, Ivanivka, and Novoekonomichne.

In the Kurakhove sector, Russian troops attacked four times near Krasnohorivka and Heorhiivka. Three battles have concluded, while one is ongoing.

In the Vremivka sector, two Russian attacks near Kostiantynivka are still ongoing. Additionally, Russian forces bombarded the area near Vodiane with aerial guided bombs.

In the Huliaipole sector, Russia is assaulting the positions of Ukrainian defenders near Huliaipole, and the battle is still ongoing.

In the Orikhiv sector, Russia was unsuccessful in attacking Ukrainian defenses twice near Mala Tokmachka and Novoandriivka. The Russian army also fired more than 50 unguided aerial missiles towards Lobkove and Kamianske.

In other areas of the front, the situation has not changed significantly.

  • Over the past day on July 27, the Russian occupation army lost at least 1,180 soldiers, 1 air defense system, 13 tanks, and 51 artillery systems in the war in Ukraine.
