The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this on February 19.

Despite significant losses, Russia does not abandon its plans to fully occupy Ukraine, ignores the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, launches strikes, and attacks both military and civilian targets. The enemy is actively using aircraft and FPV quadcopters, conducting assault operations with the support of armoured vehicles.

The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult.

There were 70 combat engagements over the last day. In total, Russia launched 4 missile strikes, 52 airstrikes, and 72 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in injuries and deaths among the civilian population. Multi-storey and private houses, as well as other infrastructure facilities, were destroyed and damaged.

Frontline situation

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. Certain units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire borderline with mortars and artillery: over 10 settlements across the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked.

In the Kupyansk sector, Russian forces made three unsuccessful offensive attempts near the town of Synkivka in the Kharkiv region. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian troops repelled four attacks near Terny, Donetsk region, and Bilohorivka, Luhansk region, where the Russian enemy tried to break through the Ukrainian defence. Artillery and mortar shelling hit more than 10 localities.

In the Bakhmut sector, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 11 attacks near Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka in the Donetsk region, where the Russian army was trying to improve its tactical position. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Avdiivka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled nine enemy attacks in the areas of Lastochkyne, Pervomaiske, and Nevelske in the Donetsk region. About 20 localities came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.

In the Marinka sector, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are holding back the Russian enemy near Heorhiivka, Pobieda, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region, repelling 19 attacks. About 5 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Shakhtarsk sector, the Russian army tried to conduct an offensive once near Staromaiorske, Donetsk region. About 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Zaporizhzhia sector, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 10 Russian attacks in the area of Malynivka and Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia region. More than 20 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Kherson sector, the Russian army does not give up its intention to drive Ukrainain units from their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Thus, it made 5 attempts to storm the positions of Ukrainian troops over the last day. About 5 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

Ukrainian strikes against Russian military positions

During the day, Ukrainian aviation struck 10 manpower concentration areas, 1 control point, and 10 enemy anti-aircraft missile systems. Also, in the eastern direction, units of the Ukrainian Air Force shot down two Russian aircraft: a Su-34 fighter-bomber and a Su-35S fighter.

The missile troops' units struck at 1 control center, 4 ammunition depots, and 5 enemy artillery sites.

  • Over the past day, 80 combat engagements took place on the frontline. The Ukrainian Defence Forces killed 1,290 Russian soldiers.
