69 battles recorded on Ukrainian front, Russian forces active near Pokrovsk

Since the beginning of the day on Thursday, May 22, 69 combat encounters have been recorded on the Russian-Ukrainian front. The Russian occupying army is most active in the Pokrovsk direction

This was reported by the General Staff in a summary as of 16:00.

The Russian forces have carried out artillery shelling from the territory of the Russian Federation on the areas of the settlements Pokrovka, Starykove, Brusky, Novodmytrivka, Mariyne, Sverkove, Myropilske, Simeykine in Sumy region; Klyusy, Liskivshchyna, Baranivka, Krasny Khutir, Arkhipivka in Chernihiv region; Klynova, Novoselivka, Tymofiivka in Kharkiv region.

Situation on the key fronts

On the Kharkiv front, the Russian enemy attacked the defense positions four times in the area of the settlement Vovchansk.

On the Kupiansk front, the Russian army attempted to advance towards our positions twice during the day in the areas of Petropavlivka and Nova Kruhlyakivka. The Defense Forces successfully repelled both enemy attacks.

On the Lyman front, six combat encounters occurred in the areas of the settlements Hrekivka, Novy Mir, Torske, and Ridkodub.

On the Siversk front, Ukrainian defenders stopped two Russian attacks in the areas of Hryhorivka and Bilohorivka.

On the Kramatorsk front, the Russian army attacked Ukrainian positions three times in the areas of Chasiv Yar and Bila Hora. One combat encounter is ongoing.

On the Toretsk front, the Russian invaders attacked three times in the areas of Romanyvka, Toretsk, and Diliivka.

On the Pokrovsk front, throughout the day, the Russian enemy attempted to advance towards Ukraine's positions 20 times near the settlements Yelyzavotivka, Lysivka, Dachenke, Udachne, Troitske, Andriivka, as well as in the directions of the settlements Promin, Shevchenko Pershe, Myrolyubivka. Six encounters are ongoing. The enemy also carried out airstrikes on the areas of the settlements Pokrovsk, Stepanivka, Novotoretske, Hnativka.

On the Novopavlivka front, the Russian aggressor attacked nine times in the directions of Shevchenka and Novopole. One combat encounter is still ongoing.

On the Hulyaipole front, the Russian forces attacked Vysoke once. Our defenders successfully repelled the invaders' attempt to advance. Additionally, airstrikes were carried out on the settlement Hulyaipole.

On the Orikhiv front, the Russian enemy carried out two offensive actions towards Novodanylivka. At the same time, airstrikes were launched on the settlements Kamianske and Stepnohirsk.

On the Prydniprovskyi front, the Russian army did not conduct any offensive actions.

On the Kursk front, nine combat encounters have already been recorded. The Russian forces have carried out the same number of airstrikes, dropping 12 guided bombs on settlements and positions of the Defense Forces. Additionally, 130 artillery shellings were carried out, including two from multiple rocket launcher systems.
