Ukraine reports 69 battles along frontline: Heavy fighting in Pokrovsk, Novopavlivka directions

On February 24, a total of 69 combat engagements were recorded on the Russian-Ukrainian front, with the most intense fighting occurring in the Pokrovsk and Novopavlivka directions

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 16:00.  

Since the beginning of the day, 69 battles have taken place.  

Border settlements have suffered from shelling originating from Russian territory, including Shevchenkove, Malushyne, Velyka Pysarivka, Pokrovka, Oleksandrivka, Luhivka, Bila Bereza, and Tymofiivka in Sumy Oblast, as well as Kamianka in Chernihiv Oblast.

Situation by directions:  

- Kharkiv direction: Ukrainian defenders are repelling an enemy assault near Vovchansk.  

- Kupiansk direction: Russia launched nine assault actions near Petropavlivka and Zahryzove, with six battles still ongoing.  

- Lyman direction: Russian forces attacked four times near the settlements of Zelena Dolyna, Borivska Andriivka, and Novolubivka.  

- Kramatorsk direction: The Defense Forces are repelling one Russian attack near Stupochky.  

- Toretsk direction: Russia launched seven attacks near Toretsk and Krymske, with three battles still underway.  

- Pokrovsk direction: Since the beginning of the day, Russian forces have attempted 20 assaults to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions near Vodiane Druhe, Promin, Pokrovsk, Leontovychi, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Nadiivka, Troitske, Andriivka, and Ulakly. Ukrainian forces have repelled 17 attacks, while three engagements are still ongoing. Russias losses are being clarified.

Frontline situation update: 

- Novopavlivka direction: Russian forces launched ten attacks near Kostyantynopil and Burlatske, with one battle still ongoing.  

- Hulyaipole direction: Ukrainian defenders repelled an attack near Novopil.  

- Orikhiv direction: Supported by assault aviation, Russian forces attacked the settlement of Kamianske.  

- Prydniprovskyi direction: Ukrainian troops repelled two Russian assaults toward Sadove.  

- Siverskyi direction: No active enemy operations were reported today.  

- Kursk operational zone: Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled seven Russian attacks throughout the day, with one battle still ongoing. The enemy conducted over 220 shelling attacks, including 12 using multiple launch rocket systems, 16 airstrikes, and dropped 21 guided bombs.  

Other frontline directions: No significant changes were reported.

  • According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as of February 24, 2025, the occupying Russian army lost 868,230 troops.
