64 combat clashes on Russian-Ukrainian frontline today, 11 in Pokrovsk sector

Since the beginning of March 16, there have been 64 combat clashes on the Russia-Ukraine front. The Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 10 Russian attacks in the Pokrovsk sector, with one battle still ongoing

Russia's attacks on Ukraine

Since the start of the day, Russian artillery and mortar fire have hit communities in Chernihiv and Sumy regions, including Bachivsk, Yastrubshchyna, Mykolaivka, Khodyne, and Bila Bereza.

Frontline situation

In the Kharkiv sector, Russia launched four attacks near Vovchansk, Kamyanka, and  Kutkivka, with one battle still ongoing. An airstrike targeted Udy.

In the Kupyansk sector, Russian forces attempted eight assaults near Petropavlivka, Bohuslavka, Lozova, and Zahryzove, as well as toward Kupiansk. One engagement remains active.

In the Lyman sector, the Russian army carried out six attacks near Novoiehorivka, Zelena Dolyna, and toward Novomykhailivka, with one battle still underway.

Ukrainian defenders repelled two Russian assaults in the Siversk sector near Verkhniokamyanske and Ivano-Dariivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian forces are fending off two Russian attacks near Chasiv Yar.

In the Toretsk sector, Russia launched seven assaults near Toretsk and Druzhba, with six battles still ongoing.

Russian forces attempted 11 attacks to push Ukrainian defenders from their positions near Sukha Balka, Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Kotlyne, Novooleksandrivka, Uspenivka, Yasenove, and Andriivka. Ukrainian troops repelled 10 assaults, while one battle continues. Pokrovsk was also hit by aerial bombs.

In the Novopavlivka sector, the Russian army attempted six breakthroughs near Kostiantynopil and dropped aerial bombs on Novopavlivka.

In the Huliaipole sector, Russian troops attacked near Skudne, Pryvilne, Vilne Pole, and toward Novopil. They also launched unguided missiles at Novopil, Novodarivka, and Huliaipole, with guided bombs striking Shevchenko.

In the Orikhiv sector, Russian forces launched five assaults near Stepove and Zherebianky, all of which were repelled.

In the Prydniprovsky sector, the Russian army conducted no ground assaults but launched airstrikes on Olhivka, Tokarivka, and Mykolaivka.

In the Kursk sector, there have been eight combat clashes since the beginning of the day, with two still ongoing. Russia also carried out nine airstrikes, dropping 16 guided bombs, and launched 104 artillery and rocket attacks on Ukrainian positions and settlements.

There were no significant changes on other frontlines.

  • On March 15, 148 combat clashes took place on the front. Ukrainian forces repelled 36 Russian assaults in the Pokrovsk sector.
