44 people killed, 196 injured in Russia's July 8 attack on Ukraine - State Emergency Service
As a result of the massive Russian attack on Monday, July 8, 196 people were injured and 44 people were killed across Ukraine, 33 of the victims were in Kyiv
This was announced during a briefing by the head of the press service of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine Svitlana Vodolaha, reports Espreso correspondent Dmytro Didora.
According to her, on July 8, Ukraine suffered one of the most massive attacks by Russians, in particular on the capital. In Kyiv, 33 people were killed, and in Kryvyi Rih, 11 people were killed.
"Kyiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih and part of Kyiv region came under fire in the morning. Unfortunately, 44 people were killed, and 196 people were injured, including 10 children. Rescuers managed to save 11 people, including three children," said Vodolaha.
Consequences of the massive attack in Kyiv
"In Kyiv, 33 people died that day, 125 people were injured, including 10 children. We rescued 11 people," said Vodolaha.
She added that on July 8, rescuers went to seven districts of the capital. In Kyiv alone, more than 500 calls were processed to the 101 line regarding hits and falling debris.
"In total, rescuers worked at 18 locations. Five locations were the most massive and scary: Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital, Adonis Medical Centre, a residential building in Shevchenkivskyi district, Holosiivskyi district and a business centre on Ushynskoho Street. These are the locations where people died," noted Svitlana Vodolaha.
Russian attack on July 8
During the massive missile attack on 8 July, more than 40 missiles of various types were launched at different cities of Ukraine.
Russian missiles hit Kryvyi Rih, Pokrovsk, Dnipro and Kyiv, resulting in multiple deaths and injuries.
In the capital, debris fell in Solomianskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Dniprovskyi, Darnytskyi, Desnianskyi, and Holosiivskyi districts.
In Shevchenkivskyi district, Russia hit the Okhmatdyt children's hospital. Two adults were killed. In Dniprovskyi district, the building of a medical centre was destroyed. 9 people died and 5 were injured.
