400 civilians remain in Toretsk, Donetsk region
As of December 10, about 400 civilians, mostly elderly people, remain in Toretsk, Donetsk region
This was stated by the head of the Toretsk town military administration Vasyl Chynchyk on Suspilne. Studio TV program.
According to him, street fighting continues in the town, and there is no clear front line in Toretsk.
‘Unfortunately, all houses are completely destroyed, all infrastructure is damaged. There is not a single surviving building, apartment block or private development. The enemy is burning out all living things and destroying the entire infrastructure of our community,’ said the town military administration chief.
Chynchyk noted that about 400 residents remain in Toretsk.
‘Most of them are elderly people living in unsanitary conditions, living in basements, shelters, in the shelters we have equipped. There are long-term food supplies, drinking water, and technical water wells in the town. We also provided storage for first aid kits and medicines,’ he said.
Chynchyk stressed that evacuation from Toretsk is possible, but the occupying Russian forces are using FPV drones, which makes it impossible to move around the territory of the Toretsk community.
‘Unfortunately, every day the possibilities are becoming less and less. The enemy is now intensively using FPV drones, and movement around the community becomes possible only when weather conditions become more difficult. Then there are certain periods of time when we have the opportunity to bring food, drinking water, and medicines to the community,’ explained the official.
- On December 5, it was reported that the Ukrainian military had successfully counter-attacked in the Toretsk sector.
