197 clashes at front, Pokrovsk direction remains tense - Ukraine's General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this as of 8:00 a.m. on September 3.

According to the updated information, Russia launched three attacks on the Ukrainian positions and populated areas yesterday, using 33 missiles, and 68 air strikes, dropping 77 guided bombs. In addition, it launched over 3,900 attacks, including 139 from multiple launch rocket systems.

Russia carried out air strikes near 17 settlements across Ukraine.

Yesterday, Ukraine's aviation, missile forces and artillery conducted 12 strikes on the Russian manpower concentration areas. In addition, an artillery system and two pontoon crossings were hit.

Frontline update 

In the Kharkiv sector, five firefights took place near Vovchansk.

In the Kupyansk sector, there were 23 combat clashes. Ukraine's Defense Forces repelled assaults near Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Hlushkivka, Kolisnykivka, Stelmakhivka, and Berestove.

In the Lyman sector, Russia attacked 18 times near Hrekivka, Druzheliubivka, Makiivka, Nevske, Cherneshchyna, and Novosadove.

In the Siversk sector, Ukrainian troops stopped seven Russian attempts to break through the defense near Verkhniokamianske, Vyimka, Ivan-Darivka, and Spirne.

Eight combat clashes took place in the Kramatorsk sector. Ukrainian defenders repelled Russian assault operations near Klishchiivka, Kalynivka, Chasiv Yar, Stupochky, and Bila Hora.

In the Toretsk sector, 18 combat clashes took place, in particular near Toretsk, Shcherbynivka, Romanivka, and Nelipivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 56 assaults near Vozdvyzhenka, Zelene Pole, Myroliubivka, Novohrodivka, Krutyi Yar, Hrodivka, Mykhailivka, and Selydove. The highest concentration of attacks was near Novohrodivka and Mykhailivka.

In the Kurakhivka sector, the Ukrainian Armed Forces stopped 39 attacks near Ukrainske, Heorhiivka, Kostiantynivka, Halytsynivka, and Krasnohorivka.

In the Vremivka sector, Russian forces conducted 21 offensives near Vodiane, Vuhledar, Kostiantynivka, and Prechystivka.

Ukrainian defenders repelled two attacks in the Kherson sector.

The situation in the Orikhiv and Huliaipole sectors remained unchanged. 

On the border with Belarus, no signs of enemy offensive groups were detected.

On the border with the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, Russia maintains a military presence, conducting mortar and artillery shelling.

At the same time, Ukrainian soldiers continue to actively inflict significant losses in manpower and equipment on the invading Russian forces, exhausting them along the entire front line.

• Over the past day, the Russian army lost 1,360 soldiers in the war in Ukraine. Ukrainian forces destroyed 10 tanks and 35 armored vehicles.
