186 clashes reported along frontline on June 16: Ukrainian forces repel 56 Russian attacks in Pokrovsk sector

Over the course of June 16, 186 combat clashes took place along the Russian-Ukrainian front. Most Russian attacks were registered in the Pokrovsk sector

According to the updated information, the invaders launched two missile strikes and 56 air strikes on the territory of Ukraine, used five missiles and dropped 110 guided aerial bombs. In addition, they engaged 3,226 'kamikaze' drones and fired 5,481 times at Ukrainian troops' positions and settlements, including 96 times from multiple launch rocket systems.

3 settlements in the Sumy region; 1 settlement in Donetsk region; 1 settlement in Dnipropetrovsk region; 7 settlements in Zaporizhzhia region; 1 settlement in Kherson region were hit by Russian air strikes.

Over the past day, aviation, missile troops and artillery of the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit eight areas of Russian troops, weapons and military equipment, five artillery sites and one other important enemy object.

Frontline update

In the Sumy and Kursk sectors, Ukrainian troops repelled 38 Russian assaults since the beginning of the day. In addition, the Russian aggressors launched 14 air strikes, dropping 32 guided bombs, and fired 225 times at Ukrainian troops' positions and localities, including one with a multiple rocket launcher.

In the Kharkiv sector, the Russian troops stormed the Ukrainian positions four times in the areas of Dovhenke and Kamianka.

In the Kupiansk sector, four occupants' attacks took place over the last day. The Ukrainian Defense Forces rebuffed the Russian assault in the vicinity of Stepova Novoselivka, Zahryzove and in the direction of Holubivka and Petropavlivka.

In the Lyman sector, the Russian invaders attacked seven times, trying to advance near Kopanky, Nadiia, Hrekivka, Ridkodub and Kolodiazi.

In the Siversk sector, the Russian forses attacked the Ukrainian troops' positions once near Hryhorivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, 12 firefights were registered in the areas of Chasiv Yar, Kurdiumivka, Orikhovo-Vasylivka and in the direction of Bila Hora.

In the Toretsk sector, the Russian troops carried out 18 attacks in the areas of Toretsk, Diliivka and towards Shcherbynivka, Rusyn Yar and Yablunivka.

In the Pokrovsk sector, the Ukrainian defenders stopped 56 aggressor's assault and offensive actions in the areas of Popiv Yar, Myroliubivka, Shevchenko Pershe, Promin, Udachne, Novoserhiivka, Horikhove, Kotliarivka, Novopavlivka, Andriivka and Oleksiivka.

In the Novopavlivka sector, the Russian aggressors attacked Ukrainian positions 28 times in the vicinity of Novosilka, Vilne Pole, Bahatyr, Burlatske and in the direction of Zaporizhzhia and Shevchenko.

In the Huliaipole sector, the Ukrainian defenders fought off four Russian offensives near Malynivka.

In the Orikhiv sector, the Ukrainian defenders beat back two Russian attacks near Nesterianka.

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, Ukrainian troops repulsed a Russian troop attack near Antonivskyi Bridge.

Along the border with Belarus, no signs of enemy offensive groups were detected.

  • Over the past day on the Russian-Ukrainian front, Ukraine’s Defense Forces eliminated 1,060 Russian soldiers and destroyed several pieces of enemy equipment and weaponry.
