181 combat clashes at frontline, Pokrovsk and Kurakhove sectors most intense — Ukraine's General Staff

Since the start of September 5, a total of 181 combat clashes have occurred at the frontline, with 51 of these clashes reported in the Pokrovsk sector

This is stated in Ukraine's General Staff's report as of 8:00 a.m. on September 6.

Over the past day, 181 combat clashes were recorded. 

According to the updated information, yesterday Russian troops fired one missile and 86 air strikes at the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements, dropping 121 KABs. In addition, they fired over 4,500 times, 125 of them from multiple launch rocket systems.

Russia carried out air strikes, targeting 12 settlements in the Sumy region; 5 in the Kharkiv region; 14 in the Donetsk region; 1 in the Zaporizhzhia region, and 1 in the Kherson region.

Yesterday, Ukraine's aviation, missile forces and artillery conducted 15 strikes onRussian personnel and weapons concentrations. In addition, a control center and four air defense facilities were hit.

Frontline update

In the Kharkiv direction, seven firefights took place near Starytsia and Vovchansk.

In the Kupyansk direction, there were 15 combat clashes. The Ukrainian defense forces repelled Russian assaults near Synkivka, Hlushkivka, Lozova and Andriivka.

In the Lyman direction, there were 17 combat clashes. Russia attacked near 5 populated areas.

In the Siverskyi direction, 10 combat clashes occurred. Ukraine's troops stopped all Russia's attempts to break through the defense near Verkhniokamianske, Vyimka and Spirne.

There were 14 firefights in the Kramatorsk direction. Ukrainian defenders repelled Russian assaults near 6 settlements.

In the Toretsk direction, 16 battles took place, in particular near Toretsk, Leonidivka and Nelipivka.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Ukrainian troops repulsed 51 attacks near 10 settlements. The highest concentration of attacks was near Novohrodivka.

In the Kurakhove direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces stopped 36 Russian attacks near 6 populated areas.

In the Vremivka direction, Russian troops carried out 11 offensives near Vodiane, Kostiantynivka and Vuhledar.

In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled a Russian attack near Robotyne.

In the Kherson direction, occupying Russian forces suffered setbacks as they launched three attacks on the defensive lines of Ukrainian units.

The situation in the Huliaipole direction remained unchanged. 

On the border with Belarus, no signs of Russian offensive groups were detected.

On the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the Russian army maintains a military presence, conducts mortar and artillery shelling of settlements from the territory of the Russian Federation.

At the same time, Ukrainian soldiers continue to inflict significant losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, exhausting the Russian enemy along the entire front line.

  • On Wednesday, September 4, 180 combat clashes took place. The situation remained the most tense in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions of Donetsk region.
