142 skirmishes take place at Russian-Ukrainian front: Russia fires over 4,000 shells at Ukraine

On October 2, 142 combat clashes were reported along the Russian-Ukrainian front. The fiercest fighting continues in the Kurakhove direction

According to details, Russian forces carried out 69 airstrikes on Ukrainian positions and civilian areas yesterday, dropping 126 guided aerial bombs. Additionally, they fired 4,543 artillery rounds, including 132 from multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).

Airstrikes hit 32 settlements across Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian Defense Forces struck four Russian air defense systems, three troop and equipment concentrations, one artillery unit in a firing position, and two ammunition depots.

Frontline update

Kharkiv direction: Russian forces made two unsuccessful attempts to assault positions near Vovchansk and Tykhe.

Kupyansk direction: Ukrainian defenders repelled 14 Russian attacks, with combat near Synkivka, Andriivka, Pischane, and Stelmakhivka.

Lyman direction: Russian troops attacked 14 times, attempting to breach Ukrainian defenses near Hrekivka, Nevske, Novosadove, Makiivka, and Torske.

Siversk direction: No offensive operations were conducted by Russian forces during the day.

Kramatorsk direction: Russian troops attacked three times, targeting Ukrainian positions around Ivanivske, Kalynivka, and Bila Hora.

Toretsk direction: Supported by aviation, Russian forces carried out 20 assaults near Dyliivka, Toretsk, Nelipivka, and Shcherbinivka, with the majority of the attacks focusing on Toretsk.

Pokrovsk direction: Ukrainian forces thwarted 29 Russian assaults and offensive actions towards Vozdvyzhenka, Novotoretske, Zelene Pole, Myrolyubivka, Mykolaivka, Krutyi Yar, Krasnyi Yar, Novohrodivka, and Selydove. The heaviest concentration of attacks occurred near Mykolaivka.

Kurakhove direction: Ukrainian troops repelled 27 Russian attacks. Russian forces concentrated their efforts around Kostiantynivka, Kurakhove, and Heorhiivka. Additional attacks targeted the settlements of Tsukuryne, Zhelanne Druhe, and Katerynivka.

Vremivka direction: Russian troops conducted six assaults on Ukrainian positions near Bohoyavlenka.

Orikhiv direction: Russian forces launched attacks towards Kamianske.

Kherson direction: No offensive actions were carried out by Russian forces.

No signs of Russian offensive group formations were detected along the Belarusian border.

Russian forces based in their own territory continue to actively use artillery and aviation to target Ukrainian settlements along the Chernihiv and Sumy region borders.

Operations also continue in the Kursk region.

  • In the last 24 hours, Russian forces suffered considerable losses, with 1,130 soldiers killed. Ukrainian forces destroyed 32 armored vehicles and 14 artillery systems.
