12 Kherson residents injured in one hour as Russia shifts drone tactics
On the morning of Tuesday, June 17, Russian forces launched heavy drone attacks on Kherson’s Dniprovskyi district. Twelve people were injured in the strikes
The Kherson Regional Military Administration reported the attack.
Officials said Russian forces have changed how they use drones. The most dangerous areas now include the Dniprovskyi market and Myru and Kulyka streets.
According to the administration, at least 11 people were wounded within just one hour. All are receiving medical treatment.
Later, it was confirmed that another injured resident, a 51-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital. She suffered an explosive injury, a concussion, and shrapnel wounds to her face.
“We’re taking all possible steps to counter enemy drones and adjust to their new tactics. This takes time. So I urge Kherson residents: stay away from this area unless absolutely necessary. Take care of yourselves,” said Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the regional administration.
- Overnight, Russian forces also hit other parts of Ukraine with drones and missiles. There are civilian casualties reported in Kyiv, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, and Chernihiv regions.
