Ukraine reports 115 combat clashes on frontlines, repels 62 attacks in Pokrovsk direction

As of January 22, there have been 115 clashes on the Russian-Ukrainian front. In the Pokrovsk direction, the invading Russian forces tried to break through Ukrainian defenses 62 times

In total, 115 combat clashes were documented over the past day.

According to updated information, Russian forces launched two missile strikes using four missiles on Ukrainian positions and settlements yesterday. They also carried out 74 airstrikes, dropping 116 guided aerial bombs. In addition, over 5,200 attacks were recorded, including 117 from multiple launch rocket systems, and they deployed 2,487 kamikaze drones.

Russian airstrikes targeted areas around Velyka Pysarivka, Romashkove, Velyka Berizka, and Stara Huta in the Sumy region; Muraviya in the Chernihiv region; and Siversk, Bondarne, Sukhyi Yar, Kostiantynivka, Malynivka, Zelene Pole, Hrodivka, Novosilka, Andriivka, Kostiantynopil, and Rozdolne in the Donetsk region. Strikes also hit Temyrivka in Zaporizhzhia and Beryslav in the Kherson region.

Over the past day, Ukraine's missile troops and artillery hit a Russian command post and six other key positions.

Frontline update

Kupyansk direction: Russian forces launched seven attacks during the day. Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled Russian assaults near Lozova, Zahryzove, and Petropavlivka.

Lyman direction: Russian forces attacked 11 times, attempting to break through Ukrainian lines near Pershotravneve, Novoserhiivka, Zelena Dolyna, Kuzmyne, Zelenyi Hai, Zarichne, Yampolivka, and the Serebrianka Forest.

Kramatorsk direction: Two Russian attacks were recorded near Chasiv Yar.

Toretsk direction: Russian troops launched 14 attacks around Toretsk.

Pokrovsk direction: Ukrainian defenders stopped 62 Russian assault and offensive actions near Zelene Pole, Myrolyubivka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Leontovychi, Zvirove, Pokrovsk, Novoserhiivka, Kotlyne, Andriivka, Shevchenko, Dachne, Ulakly, and in the Yantarne, Promin, and Zelene directions. Russian forces heavily used bombing and assault aircraft against settlements and Ukrainian positions.

Novopavlivka direction: Five attacks were recorded near Kostiantynopil and Vremivka.

Kherson direction: Russian troops tried three times to dislodge Ukrainian units but failed. After suffering losses, they retreated.

In the Kursk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled nine attacks. Over the past day, Russian forces carried out 21 airstrikes, dropped 34 guided aerial bombs, and launched 377 attacks, including nine from multiple launch rocket systems.

In the Kharkiv, Siversk, Orikhiv, and Hulyaipole directions, Russian forces did not conduct offensive operations.

Along the Belarus border, there are no signs of Russian offensive groups forming.

At the borders of the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, Russian forces continue to use artillery and strike drones from Russian territory, targeting Ukrainian settlements.

  • Meanwhile, Russian forces suffered significant losses in Ukraine, with 1,950 personnel killed in a single day. Ukrainian forces also destroyed several pieces of Russian equipment, including 11 tanks.
