Ukraine reports 112 frontline clashes on Apr. 5, notes increased tension in Pokrovsk sector

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported the information.

"Despite the significant losses inflicted by our defenders, the enemy continues its attempts to break through the defense lines of Ukrainian forces," the statement says.

In total, 112 combat clashes have taken place since the start of the day.

Today, artillery strikes from the Russian territory have affected the areas of the settlements of Khrynivka in Chernihiv region; Seredyna-Buda, Baranivka, Kucheryvka, Popivka, Porozok, Chuikivka, Prokhody, Hrabovske, Petrushivka, Mykhailivka, and Mariyne in Sumy region. In addition, the Russian aviation launched airstrikes with guided bombs on the settlements of Petrushivka, Prokhody, Krasnopillia, Velyka Pysaryvka, and Bratenytsia in Sumy region.

Frontline situation

Ukrainian units repelled one Russian attack in the Kharkiv direction near Kamianka. Kozacha Lopan and Slatyne were targeted by airstrikes.

In the Kupiansk direction, the Russian enemy actively attacked the positions of Ukrainian forces five times near the settlements of Petropavlivka, Zahrizove, and Nova Kruhlyakivka; Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled three enemy assaults, and two clashes are still ongoing.

In the Lyman direction, the Russian army launched 16 attacks on Ukrainian positions near Novoiehorivka, Novolyubivka, Hrekivka, Novyi, Katerynivka, and towards Zeleny Dolyna. Two clashes are still ongoing.

Two attacks were repelled by our defenders in the Siversk direction, and one clash is still ongoing. The fighting occurred near Bilohorivka and Verkhnokamianske.

In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled three attacks by the Russian enemy in the areas of Chasiv Yar and Hryhorivka.

In the Toretsk direction, the Russians attempted to push Ukrainian units from occupied positions in the areas of Kurdiumivka, Toretsk, Dachne, Leonidivka, and Druzhba, where the Defense Forces repelled nine Russian assaults; three more clashes are still ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the Russian enemy carried out 46 attempts to push Ukrainian defenders from occupied positions in the areas of Khotlyarivka, Valentynivka, Oleksandropil, Tarasivka, Lysivka, Shevchenko, Kotlyne, Udaychne, Uspenivka, Novooleksandrivka, and Bohdanivka. Our forces are holding the line and have already repelled 39 of these attacks.

In the Novopavlivka direction, Ukrainian forces repelled four Russian attacks in the areas of Rozlyv and Burlatske; one attempt to storm our positions has already been stopped.

In the Huliaipole direction, the enemy carried out an airstrike on the settlement of Komyshuvakha, and our forces repelled an attack in the area of Rivnopil.

In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian defenders successfully stopped four enemy attacks near Stepove, Malyi Shcherbaky, and towards Malyi Tokmachka and Novoandriivka.

In the Kursk direction, Ukrainian forces repelled six enemy attacks, with another four clashes still ongoing. Additionally, the enemy carried out 195 artillery strikes on our positions and settlements, including ten from multiple rocket launchers, launched six airstrikes, and dropped 14 guided bombs.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the Russian enemy did not conduct any active offensive actions.

• As of March 5, the Russian army has advanced in Toretsk, Donetsk region, and in Malyi Shcherbaky, Zaporizhzhia region.
