109 clashes occur at front, Russia attacks in 11 directions - Ukraine's General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this on August 30.

During the day, the areas of Druzhba, Romashkove, Sopych, Kucherivka, Novovasylivka, Pokrovka, Mezenivka, Khrinivka, Luhivka, Slavhorod, Nova Huta, Tymofiivka, Stara Huta, Rudak, and Chuikivka were subjected to Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In addition, the Russian forces conducted airstrikes with guided bombs on Sumy, Hlukhiv, and Sosnivka.

Frontline situation 

In the Kharkiv sector, the Russian troops twice stormed the defensive lines of Ukrainian units near Pletenivka and Vovchansk, where one attack is still ongoing. In addition, they launched two attacks with anti-aircraft gunships near Hoptivka and Semenivka.

In the Kupyansk sector, the Russian army conducted 18 offensives near Synkivka, Kolisnykivka, Novoosynove, Lozova, Andriivka, and Stelmakhivka. Six attacks are currently underway.

In the Lyman sector, the Russian army attacked 13 times near Tverdokhlibove, Novoserhiivka, Druzheliubivka, Hrekivka, Cherneshchyna, Nevske, and Novosadove. Twelve attacks were repelled by Ukrainian defenders, and one more is ongoing.

In the Siversk sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled three Russian attacks near Vyimka, Ivano-Daryivka, and Verkhniokamianske. One battle is currently underway. The situation is under control of Ukrainian troops, the General Staff says.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy attacked Kalynivka, Chasiv Yar, Stupochky, Ivanivske, and Andriivka six times. Five attacks were stopped and one is ongoing. In addition, the Russians conducted two airstrikes on Chasiv Yar and Dmytrivka.

In the Toretsk sector, the invading forces tried to force Ukrainian troops out of their positions near Toretsk and Nelipivka. Nine engagements were completed, one is ongoing. The enemy aircraft struck near Druzhba.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Russians carried out 36 assault operations in the areas of Zelene Pole, Vozdvyzhenka, Hrodivka, Karlivka, Novohrodivka, Marynivka, and Mykhailivka. The Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back the Russian offensive and repelled 28 attacks, with eight more battles still ongoing.

In the Kurakhove sector, the Russians attacked 14 times near Ukrainske, Halytsynivka, Heorhiivka, and Kostiantynivka. Ten of the Russian attempts to advance were repelled, four are still ongoing.

In the Vremivka sector, the Russian troops stormed Ukrainian positions near Vodiane and Vuhledar five times without success. In addition, using aviation, the invaders dropped two bombs near Sadove and launched multiple rocket launchers at Solodke.

In the Orikhiv sector, Russia launched an offensive near Robotyne. Ukrainian defenders repelled the attack.

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, the invaders also suffered a defeat, attacking the Ukrainian positions.

"In other areas, the operational situation remains without significant changes," the General Staff added.
